The Corby Hunters Point Warehouse stands as a remarkable bridge between the past and the present. Once the birthplace of the legendary Commodore computers, this site is now a thriving logistics hub operated by Advanced Supply Chain (ASC). As part of the Reconomy, ASC delivers end-to-end, tech-led supply chain solutions for leading retailers and brands, supporting both B2B and B2C customers with agility and innovation.
In 2025, Commodore, now under the stewardship of Peri Frantic, reached out to ASC with a special request: to revisit the Corby warehouse, pack, and send out the newly relaunched Commodore 64 as a tribute to the brand’s roots. ASC was delighted to oblige, playing a small but meaningful role in this new chapter for Commodore. On December 16th, Peri personally visited Corby to oversee the labelling, wrapping, and dispatch of two palettes of brand-new stock, destined for eager customers.
During the visit, the sense of history was palpable, the Commodore brand is fully in the consciousness of Corby still, it’s part of the industrial history of the area. This connection was brought to life when James M, ASC’s Maintenance Engineer at the Corby Warehouse, happened to walk through one of the shots and stopped to chat about his memories. He remembers coming to the warehouse opening day with his school where they got a tour of the facility, with all the conveyors and equipment working to produce these iconic computers. He mentioned that everyone in Corby owned a Commodore including himself! Even today, small relics like the original Commodore plates on the electricity closet serve as reminders of the site’s storied past.
As a whole, it was a brilliant opportunity to discuss the past lives of the Corby facility and reflect on how its legacy continues to shape both the local community and the innovative spirit of today’s businesses. The chance to merge nostalgia with progress—welcoming Commodore back to its birthplace, even briefly—served as a reminder of the enduring connections between history and modern enterprise. As ASC forges ahead, it does so with a proud nod to the past, ensuring the Corby warehouse remains a vibrant part of both technological and local heritage.
